Photos above and on the main page are of the car today.

The original owner however had an accident with the vehicle.
He tried to pull out of a T junction quickly and the acceleration
took him by surprise. As a result he shot over the road and hit a tree.
The low speed frontal impact damaged bumper, bonnet, radiators fans and slam panel.
There was no damage to engine, gearbox, wings or inner wings.
High quality repairs were carried out by an XM specialist.
Dave Alston of Marsh Citroen judged the repairs to be excellent.
There's no evidence now that the car was ever damaged.
As a result the car has had many expensive new parts fitted.

Below are some photographs taken during repairs.
The damage to the bonnet gives a good indication of the impact.





I purchased the car from the XM specialist who carried out the repairs.
He purchased the car from the insurers who had considered it uneconomical to repair.
(There is apparently no "book value" for this year/model of XM.
The valuation was therefore based on a standard 1998 Petrol XM.)

I was delighted to get the opportunity to buy this car.
The photos don't do it justice I'm afraid.
The car is superb to drive - smooth and quiet - like new.

they carried out the most recent work on the car.
